hey there gang, I am sure we all listened to icon last night. I was surprised at how the judges sounded in singing. Ather, I was so disappointed, I mean he was in all state! Liz has done orchestra, and Christina, she is just good. But I was not impressed with some of those performances. What do you all think as zoners?
I thought Liz's the first Noel was ok. Hun you need to work on that voice. You sound good, but to nervous, also you need to put more power in your voice. Ather, I can't really think of anything good to say about your song. I know you said you didn't pick the right song, but you had a bit of time to do this, and, well I was not impressed, and christina, you rocked! I didn't know the song and at first, I thought it was not that good, but when I listened to a copy of the song and compared it to yours, I was impressed. Rock on girl friend.
Thanks Aaron, it's appreciated. I know I need to work on somethings, but overall, yeah, I think my voice is good. Coming from me, that's hard to admit.
Liz sweety you are good indeed. I have sang with you before, and I loved it. so I know you have a good voice. smile.

Well, as a zoner then and not a staff member I'll offer the following.
I've heard pre-recorded stuff that Ather's done so know he can do far far better. I think perhaps solo singing, especially acapella takes a real tallent and Ather doesn't have it! LOL, sorry mate. To offer some kind of an excuse for the poor guy I believe he is a harmonist, if such a word exists, so perhaps that goes some way in his defense.
Liz, so far as I could tell, your nerves really did get the better of you. Possibly also you were sitting down? Whatever the reason, as Aaron has already stated, you didn't sing out. You really didn't open up and let go so while your voice was by no means unpleasant to listen too, it was a long way from actually being impressive.
Cristina, you did impress me. Although your style of singing isn't something I personally enjoy, you do have a powerful voice, good control and unlike Liz and Ather, I think you definitely do have the tallent to hold a solo performance.
Over all I did think the judges singing was a fun feature and I especially enjoyed Jared's comments. Jared for judge next year?

yep Ahter was just, um .. no! please, not again! but also in his deffence, he's got a really weird mic set up. when he talks, it sounds a tad muffled. Lol
liz certainly would sound good if it weren't for the nerves, and yep, christina was awesome! :)
I tend to agree with Jared about the marathon thing. LOL.
Personally I was quite disappointed that the judges, or at least Ather and Liz did what they'd told every other contestant they did wrong. They picked songs that weren't the best for their voices. Well, it's your own fault. I said to Liz she had a sweet voice, and I really think she does. Ather, somehow you sound like the Arab that you are when you sing, so maybe find something apropriate. lol and Christina you sang in a style that I'm just not equipped to make much comment on, though it was good.
I think Kristina's song was alright except for the huge amount of vabrato in it.
I know Ather can do better than that; his performence sucked.
Liz was alright, shakey and nervous, but I'll bet she can be good when she's relaxed.
First of all, I think we should hear what Aaron sounds like when he sings.
All though you were a former judge you were one of the originals and judges us until all most the end and so we should hear what you sound like.
I personally think that you would do good based upon you singing when you all sang Happy Birthday to mark.
And let's talk about that for a sec.
Anybody who heard you guys sing to him could have made accurate predictions on how you guys would sound.
I at least was not disappointed.
But I had hoped that there would have been some improvement.
Ather, if you're as good as everybody claims to be, then eiter they have low standars, or you really are better then you sounded but you cracked the way I did under pressure with your performance.
As for the comparison with your performance berses mine, I don't know that it was any worse then mine but it sure wasn't better.
In fact the things you said to me also apply to you exactly, Things such as you went off key, and the song didn't show off your vocal talents as well as one might have hoped.
But going back to you singing happy birthday, I wasn't disappointed.
I think you may have even stuttered with your words a bit though I may be mistaken about that.
The one compliment I can give is that you're vals were good though perhaps a little too good.
As for nerves, well I think you all had the right to be nervous since your judges can't say, "Relax, we don't bite" cause as far as I'm concerned, they bit, and they bit hard.
Lizz, you did OK, though what really ruined your performance was you messing up in the middle and asking if you could redo it. Also, doing less verses would have helped as well.
Christina, since you weren't a judge during Marks birthday I didn't know what to expect, but I think you did good over all.
As for Roman battle mask for judge, well he certainly makes a better judge than singer, but I think he would scare away the contestants.
I think that next year it would be nice to have judges that have a little more talent.
lol I agree with you Fuzzy on the Roman Battlemask. Anyway, I thought Christina did really well because she was the best out of all of them. I think people who actually can sing, should judge. That might make it look better. Athier might be better with harmonizing, but I don't know, he kept making up excuses to get out of it. but anyway, as for Aaron, I've heard him sing, and he sings damn good. I'm mixing a track of him singing a 3 part harmony for The First Noel. It sounds good, just had to fix a few timing. But if I had to choose the best judges, Aaron and Christina should battle it out. Liz wasn't so bad like a few friends of mine said she sucked, but I thought it was because she was nervous. So overall, it would kind of funny and fun at the same time. Maybe if there is another icon show, they should judge the judges again. It was great.

Hey thanks jasmin. I appreciate the compliment on my voice. I love singing, and I try to practice everyday. I would have loved to battle it out with the other judges to see who you guys would have picked as the best singer. I even had a song picked out, as we had decided weeks ago when I was on staff that the judges would have to perform. Anyways though take care sweety darlings,

When I heard that the judges themselves had to sing in Icon, I thought that this is a gimic, but, a workable one.
And may I say that the 3 of you (judges), were great sports in taking part in this thingie.
I hope that what I have to say, will be regarded in the same spirrut
Here's my actual thoughts on the respective performances:
Lizz, did you really have to sing 6 verses of that song?
Ather, while you sang, was there a snake crawling around on the floor, trying to bite your ankles? You sounded so nervous, I thought that that was the case.
Christina, nothing wrong with your singing, but that song you chose, had me wanting to slit my wrists after a while!
They made me sing all six, I swear! I didn't want to! Haha, no, seriously, I had asked if they wanted me to sing all of the verses or only a few, but they said all, so... I knew it was a long song, hence my asking to shorten it. Ah well, what's done is done. It was fune, but I do admit, it wasn't my best performance by any means.
Hehehe I know Lizz, and I really think the 3 of you were great in willing in to do it, even though it was for fun.
I sware, there's no way I would have done it!
